We invite anyone interested in learning more about Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School to complete our online inquiry form or call our Office of Admissions at 510-995-9445 to obtain our admissions packet.
Step Two- Visit the SJND Campus
We encourage you to schedule a visit to campus. Prospective students and their families can come to campus during our popular Shadow Day visit program or for our Open House.
Shadow Day visitors have a great opportunity to experience the ins and outs of being an SJND student. Shadow Day visitors are paired with a host student to experience two classes and a lunch. Parents are encouraged to stay for a discussion about SJND and a tour. Click here for information on setting up a Shadow Day visit.
This year we are also inviting all middle schools students to our campus to watch our winning Pilot Basketball team in action. Sign up now and we will mail you 2 complementary tickets to our Middle School Madness game.
Applications should be submitted electronically by January 8, 2010. A $75 application fee can be submitted online via credit card during the application process.
Freshman applicants to Saint Joseph Notre Dame may also be considered for one of several Presidential Scholarships offered each year. These scholarships award $10,000 over the course of four years ($2,500 per annual award) to students who demonstrate strong character and extraordinary academic promise through their grades and HSPT scores.
Step Four- Submit Recommendation and Transcript Forms
All prospective students are required to submit a completed teacher and principal/counselor recommendation form and a transcript from their current school by February 5.
The below forms should be given to current school administrators and/or teachers as soon as your application has be submitted.
Students from public schools can obtain a transcript from their school office and submit it to SJND directly.
SJND requires that all ninth grade applicants take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The HSPT, developed by Scholastic Testing Service,is a 3 hour standardized exam that evaluates verbal, quantitative, reading, mathematics and English language skills.
The test will be administered on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 8:15 am – 12:30 pm. Students do not need to bring anything with them; SJND will provide all necessary materials for testing. Students should arrive on campus at 8:15 am.
Step Six- Student and Parent/Guardian Interview
The Student and Parent/Guardian Interview, which will be held on January 26, 28 or 30, is a required part of the admissions process. The interview gives SJND a chance to learn more about the prospective family and allows the family to ask questions about SJND. The interviews last approximately 15-20 minutes. Families can sign up for their interview date and time on the day of the HSPT. Those who do not test at SJND will be contacted by the Admissions Office.
Step Seven- Notification Letters
Families who submit their application materials by January 8, 2010 will be considered in the first pool of applicants. Letters of notification will be mailed on March 12, 2010.
Prospective students will be assessed on the following:

Academic transcripts/grade reports from the prior two years
